Extrais — Cookie Policy
1. What cookies and similar technologies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device (computer, phone, or tablet) when you visit. Cookies let a site remember your actions and preferences over time. We also use closely related technologies such as local storage and session storage (small amounts of data the browser keeps), and pixels or similar identifiers. In this policy we refer to all of these together as "cookies".
Cookies may be first-party (set by Extrais) or third-party (set by a provider we use, such as our analytics service). They may last only for the length of your visit (session cookies, deleted when you close the browser) or remain for a defined period (persistent cookies).
2. Our approach: necessary by default, analytics only with consent
By default, the Extrais website uses only strictly necessary cookies — those required for the site to load and work securely. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share any information from cookies for advertising.
We use analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4 / Firebase) only if you give consent through the cookie banner that appears on your first visit. Until you accept, analytics stays off. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time (see section 5).
3. Cookies we use
The table below describes the categories of cookies the website may set and roughly how long they last. Exact names and durations set by third-party providers can change; the categories and purposes do not.
| Category | Purpose | Set by | Consent | Roughly how long |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Make the site load and function securely — for example, remembering your cookie-consent choice, balancing server load, and protecting against fraud and abuse. The site cannot work properly without these. | Extrais (first-party) | Not required (always on) | Session to ~12 months (the consent record persists so we don't ask again on every visit) |
| Analytics | Help us understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the website (e.g. which pages are viewed and general traffic trends) so we can improve it. Uses Google Analytics 4 / Firebase. We configure it to limit data collection and do not use it for advertising. | Google (third-party) | Only with your consent via the banner | Session to ~24 months |
We do not use advertising, marketing, retargeting, or social-media tracking cookies on the website.
4. The Extrais mobile app uses no advertising cookies
For clarity, the Extrais mobile app does not use advertising or cross-site tracking technologies. Consistent with our privacy-by-design approach, product analytics and crash reporting in the app are switched OFF until you opt in. The app does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. How the app handles personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
5. How to withdraw or change your consent
- On the website: you can reopen the cookie banner or preferences at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the website footer, and turn analytics on or off. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it and takes effect going forward.
- In your browser: you can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings (see section 6). Deleting our consent cookie will cause the banner to appear again on your next visit.
6. Managing cookies in your browser
Most browsers let you view, block, and delete cookies and clear local storage. The steps differ by browser; look for "Privacy", "Cookies", or "Site data" in your settings, or use these vendor guides:
You can also opt out of Google Analytics across all sites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the website from working.
7. Legal basis and your rights
Where required (including under the EU/EEA and UK ePrivacy rules and GDPR, the Swiss FADP, and the Turkish KVKK), we set non-essential cookies only with your consent, and rely on our legitimate interest in operating a secure website for strictly necessary cookies. Cookies can involve personal data; your rights to access, delete, and otherwise control that data — and details of international hosting (core data is hosted in the EU) — are set out in our Privacy Policy.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes to our site, the cookies we use, or the law. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date.
